Last year we did this same thing from the Kiwi Koala crate. and the kids just LOVED doing it.
They had the tissue cut into squares and black card stock shapes. The card stock was to be placed first then the tissue to cover all over. They used contact paper to have the shapes and tissue paper stick in place easier then you placed a second piece of the contact paper over it sealing it.
Since this was an on the fly kind of project I just let them cute “squares” of different tissue paper. While they did that I did the task of cutting out the frame. I made a heart which was easy to cut then taking a sharp knife and a cutting board I cut lines to make it easier for the tissue to adhere with glue stick glue.
I think it all worked out great and the kids loved doing it and Nona loved them.
For us, crafting is more about the doing than the actual craft and just having fun. Sometimes they don’t quite match the images of ideas but I love them the same. So take a chance and make one that’s yours!
You could use a paper cutter to make life easier (mine has broken, whops). Also a white colored pencil is the perfect writing tool to put their name and date on. Make sure to let the kids go over the edge so you can cut off the excess and everything is covered.
Any shape I think would work and I’d love to try a butterfly sometime….maybe a great time for May when Phipps puts out the butterflies.
Till then enjoy and God Bless
