After finishing off this sprinkle jar of sprinkles for some rice crispy treats my son asked if “we could keep it for our kitchen”. I said yes immediately and washed it out, but as I was drying it I had a better idea.
I had my 2yo picked out 5 colors, then he filled a table spoon of rice into 5 snack sized zip locks. I then added just one small drop of color into each bag, zipped it up, and let him shake till his heart was content.

We set them onto a tray lined with paper towels to dry a bit and not stain my bakeware, then I removed the towel, and placed in my toaster over on 400 for 5 minuets. Once the timer was off just kept it in there while the heat dissipated for about 20 more minuets. After we pulled them out I let them cool completely so I wouldn’t have any moisture inside the bottle.
I used one of those rubber finger tips from the $Tree for hot glue to make a nice and flat hot glue line for the holes on the shaker. Then I filled up the top almost all the way to the edge with hot glue, and immediately, slowly, and carefully put the shaker lid on. Once that was cooled and set I screwed the lid on and gave to the kiddos.

It looks so pretty and just like sprinkles! The kids love that it’s like a shaker also! They’ve been making cakes, cookies, pancakes, pretending it’s medicine (spoon full of sugar) all afternoon.
Till then God Bless and Enjoy!
